“Grace & Ritual” exhibition featuring Cindy Patrick

iPhoneArt is proud to be part of the “Grace & Ritual” exhibition at iam8bit Gallery in Los Angeles.  This new art show  features the work of more than 40 accomplished female artists including: Cindy Patrick, Lizzy Waronker, Diva Zappa, Jana Cruder, Sawa and others, who examine the “personal, professional, creative and cultural manifestations of the words ‘grace’ and ‘ritual.’”

Cindy Patrick worked with Daria Polichetti and our team, printing her beautiful images on glass and aluminum for this show.

I had the fortunate opportunity to attend the opening reception. Cindy’s prints were in the front room– center on the right wall.  The iam8bit gallery does a great job at promoting the opening of their shows, and this show was no different.  There was a huge turnout.  Below are some photos I snapped at the event. Also check out the vine videos to see a mile-long scarf being knit by a women on top of a cake!

ArtRageous

LA MAF: ArtRageous group is open for submissions until July 31 and is looking for work that incorporates the ArtRage in their creation. We will be showcasing the 20 best at LA-MAF, so it is a great way to get your work into the show after general submissions are closed. Please submit paintings, altered photos, drawings, sketches…anything ArtRageous.

ArtRage is constantly raising bar with regard to mobile painting technology. They are a partner and generous sponsor of the LA MAF, and we’d like your help in thanking them for their generous support by bringing together a fantastic set of work to showcase. They will also be attending the opening party and offering demos of their apps on-site so it will be a great way to get to know the team behind the scenes.

Submission deadline: July 31.

Studio b.’s Light Impressions exhibit at LA-MAF

Studio b. and its signature work, Light Impressions has been invited to the LA Mobile Arts Festival 2012.  Light Impressions is a mind-bending, first-of-its-kind art installation of 40 iPhoneographers and 520 images from 10 countries around the globe. Thousands of dollars worth of iPads, mounted on a rooftop rescued from a Florida hurricane, sporting a uniquely personal collection of digital imagery.

“We are so proud to have Studio b. on board,” said Daria Polichetti, co-founder of iPhoneArt.comand LA MAF. “Studio b. is a pioneer in this renegade art medium, and is remarkably in tune with iPhoneArt’s philosophy of exploring, sharing and mentoring the best and latest in the mobile arts.”

LA-MAF will feature two Studio b. creations:  Light Impressions, a multinational installation that has toured internationally, and The Mobile Art Chandelier, Studio b.’s creative camera phone chandelier.

Based in Florida, Studio b. personifies the early days of the mobile art movement. Founder and curator Colleen Duffley comes from a background in commercial photography and advertising. But she was an early convert to mobile photography.

“Four years ago, our very first creative showcase at Studio b. was a global camera-phone event.  We elevated iPhoneography to the art form level it deserves with the Light Impressions installation and demonstrated the extent to which Studio b. is dedicated to growing and changing with technology.  It is extremely flattering to be a featured installation at the L.A. Mobile Arts Festival, an event that recognizes the evolution of the relationship between art and technology.”

LA-MAF will present 8 days of mobile artistry at the Santa Monica Art Studios, an historic airplane hangar turned cutting-edge arts community, located close to Silicone Beach, a new mecca for mobile technology development. The exhibition will bring together art and technology in new and innovative ways, a culmination of the first few years of the growing field of mobile art.

About Studio b.
Studio b. is a creative venue that brings together the best of the best and the up-and-coming in the fields of photography, art, literature, fashion, design, music and the culinary arts, placing a special emphasis on the mixing and intermingling of all creative mediums and the ongoing educational process for all artists and students. With high-profile events, seminars, classes and informative lectures by talented pros from around the world, it is Studio b.’s commitment to offer a state-of-the-art and inspirational learning environment designed to educate, inspire and cultivate an artistic community along Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast. Apart from its home-base initiatives, Studio b. also coordinates, hosts and co-sponsors spectacular events elsewhere throughout the U.S. and around the world.
